British Aerospace Model BAe 146 and Model Avro 146-RJ Series Airplanes: Airworthiness Directive Amendment
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued an airworthiness directive amendment requiring repetitive tests of the electrical circuit between the windshear computer and the flap position sensor, as well as repair of the electrical wiring, for certain British Aerospace Model BAe 146 and Model Avro 146-RJ series airplanes. The amendment aims to prevent flightcrew errors due to the existing windshear computer's inability to detect true flap position, which could lead to reduced controllability during a windshear encounter.
