U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to Discontinue 'Category-2 Candidate' List, Shift Focus to 'Species of Concern' and 'Species in Decline' Lists

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has decided to discontinue its 'category-2 candidate' list and instead focus on identifying species that are 'species of concern' or 'species in decline' for land management planning and conservation efforts, while continuing to collect information on individual species' biological status and threats.
