Navy Amends Certifications and Exemptions Under International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972
The US Navy is updating its certifications and exemptions under the 1972 International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, primarily to alert mariners in areas where these regulations apply, following determinations by the Navy's Deputy Assistant Judge Advocate General (Admiralty) regarding noncompliance for three specific ships: USS BUTTE (AE 27), USS SANTA BARBARA (AE 28), and USS MOUNT BAKER (AE 34).
