EPA Proposes National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants in Phosphoric Acid Manufacturing and Phosphate Fertilizers Production
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposes new national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (NESHAP) at phosphoric acid manufacturing and phosphate fertilizers production facilities, aiming to reduce emissions of toxic substances such as hydrogen fluoride, arsenic, and mercury. The proposed rule is based on the Clean Air Act and is expected to result in a 315-megagram-per-year reduction in hazardous air pollutant emissions.
