Good Neighbor Environmental Board

Pursuant to the Federal Advisory Committee Act (P.L. 92-463), the U.S. Environmental protection Agency gives notice of a meeting of the Good Neighbor Environmental Board. The Good Neighbor Environmental Board was created by the Enterprise for the Americas Initiative Act of 1992. An Executive Order delegates implementing authority to the Administrator of EPA. The Board is responsible for advising the President and the Congress on environmental and infrastructure issues and needs within the States contiguous to Mexico. The statute calls for the Board to have governmental and nongovernmental representatives from the States of Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas, and from U.S. Government agencies. The Board meets at least twice annually. The Board's agenda will focus primarily on discussion of federal agency programs in the border region and the Board's Annual Report to the President and the Congress. The meeting is open to the public, with seating on a first-come, first-served basis. Members of the public are invited to provide oral and/or written comments to the Board. Time will be provided on February 6, 1997, to obtain input from the public.
