EPA Rescinds Radionuclide Emissions Standard for NRC-Licensed Facilities

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has rescinded the National Emission Standard for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPs) for radionuclide emissions from Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) or NRC Agreement State licensed facilities, except commercial nuclear power reactors, effective December 15, 1989, due to the NRC's regulatory program providing adequate protection for public health.
