Nuclear Regulatory Commission Withdraws Rule Proposal on Severe Accident Performance

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has withdrawn a proposed rule on generic regulation for severe accidents in light water reactors, citing that current design certification rulemaking is complete and future applicants are not foreseen, making the expenditure of resources unnecessary.
