NHTSA Receives Petition for Importation of Nonconforming 1986 Mazda RX-7 Cars
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has accepted a petition from Mazda to allow the importation of 1986 Mazda RX-7 passenger cars that do not meet all applicable Federal motor vehicle safety standards, as they are substantially similar to certified US models and can be easily modified to comply with safety regulations.
