CFM International Proposes Revision to Airworthiness Directive for CFM56-2, -3, -3B, -3C, and -5 Series Turbofan Engines
CFM International is proposing a revision to an existing airworthiness directive for its CFM56-2, -3, -3B, -3C, and -5 series turbofan engines, which would relax some requirements related to magnetic chip detector inspections and No. 3 bearing maintenance, in response to new data showing a reduced bearing failure rate after extended service.
