FAA Issues Airworthiness Directive for Boeing 737 Series Airplanes
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued an airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Boeing Model 737-100, -200, -300, -400, and -500 series airplanes, requiring repetitive inspections and replacement of the standby rudder power control unit (PCU) to prevent galling on the input shaft and bearing. The FAA aims to address design issues with the flight control systems on Model 737 series airplanes to ensure controllability of the aircraft.
