U.S. Requests WTO Dispute Settlement Panel Over India's Patent Protection for Pharmaceuticals and Agricultural Chemicals

The U.S. Trade Representative's Office has requested a WTO dispute settlement panel to examine India's failure to provide patent protection for pharmaceuticals and agricultural chemicals, as required by the TRIPS Agreement, and to determine if India's legal regime is inconsistent with the agreement's obligations.
