U.S. Requests WTO Dispute Settlement Over Japan's Agricultural Quarantine Requirements

The U.S. Trade Representative's office has requested a WTO dispute settlement panel to examine Japan's requirement to test and quarantine each variety of agricultural products before importation, a measure that the U.S. claims is inconsistent with international trade agreements and hinders market access.
