FCC Releases Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for CALEA Implementation

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on October 10, 1997, to implement the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) and to collect information from the public and other federal agencies. The NPRM has been submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for review under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA).
