FDA Proposes Feed Mill Licensing Under Animal Drug Availability Act of 1996

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is proposing to amend the animal drug regulations to provide for feed mill licensing in accordance with the Animal Drug Availability Act (ADAA) of 1996, which requires a single facility license for the manufacture of feeds containing approved new animal drugs, rather than multiple medicated feed applications (MFA's) for each feed mill, as previously required by the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA).
