FSIS Extends Public Comment Period on Proposed Rule Regarding Raw Poultry Labeling
The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is extending a 60-day public comment period on a proposed rule to prohibit the use of the term 'fresh' on raw poultry products whose internal temperature has ever been below 26 degrees Fahrenheit. The proposal aims to reconcile the requirement for a 'previously frozen' disclosure with existing regulations for poultry labeled as 'frozen'.
