Bureau of Consular Affairs Updates Visa Classification for Certain Immigrants

The Bureau of Consular Affairs has updated the visa classification for certain immigrants under the Immigration and Nationality Act, allowing spouses and children of U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents to self-petition for immediate relative and preference classifications, as mandated by the Violence Against Women Act of 1994.
