US Department of State Certifies 16 Nations for Sea Turtle Conservation in Shrimp Fisheries

The US Department of State certified 16 nations for their efforts to reduce sea turtle bycatch in shrimp fisheries, with 24 countries deemed safe for US shrimp imports. This certification, based on Section 609 of Public Law 101-162, was initially granted in 1997 and remains valid.
