Companies Agree to Settle Allegations of Misleading Weight Loss Claims

Dean Distributors, Inc., et al., have agreed to settle allegations of violating federal law by making false claims about their low-calorie diet programs. The companies, which operate as Advanced Health Systems, Cambridge Direct Sales, and Medibase, must now clearly disclose the need for physician monitoring to minimize health risks associated with their VLCD diet programs.
