Coast Guard Establishes Temporary Safety Zone on Lake Erie to Prevent Oil Release

The US Coast Guard is setting up a one-quarter-mile radius safety zone around the sunken tank barge Cleveco, located in Lake Erie near Euclid, OH, to prevent recreational and commercial divers from tampering with the exposed valves, which could lead to oil spills and environmental harm, with plans to remove the oil this summer.
