HUD Amends Coinsurance Regulations for Coinsuring Lenders

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is introducing changes to its coinsurance regulations, providing coinsuring lenders with two new options to handle defaulted coinsured mortgages. These options include requesting HUD endorsement for full insurance and advancing funds to cure mortgage delinquencies, while reducing principal to restore project viability.
