Saab Model SAAB SF340A and SAAB 340B Series Airplanes: New Airworthiness Directive to Prevent Brake Assembly Failure

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Saab Model SAAB SF340A and SAAB 340B series airplanes, requiring repetitive inspections to detect damage to the brake assembly and wheel assembly, and installation of a heat shield to prevent brake assembly failure, which could lead to a brake fire.
