FDA Approves Polydextrose for Direct Food Use
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has amended its regulations to allow the safe use of polydextrose, a food additive produced by reacting phosphoric acid, following a petition from A. E. Staley Manufacturing Co. The change aims to provide a new method for producing polydextrose, enabling its direct addition to food products for human consumption.
