NMFS Closes Pacific Cod Fishery in Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands Management Area

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is shutting down the trawl gear Pacific cod fishery in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands management area to prevent overfishing of Pacific halibut, a species protected by the 1995 prohibited species bycatch mortality allowance.
