De Havilland Model DHC-8 Series Airplanes to Undergo Eddy Current Inspections for Cracked Pivot Tubes

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a new airworthiness directive requiring eddy current inspections and repairs/replacements of cracked pivot tubes in the nose landing gear of de Havilland Model DHC-8 series airplanes to prevent fatigue cracking and subsequent failure.
