EPA and DOJ Policy on CERCLA Enforcement Against Lenders and Government Entities

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) have issued a policy memorandum outlining their approach to enforcing the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) against lenders and government entities that acquire property involuntarily, building on the 1992 Lender Liability Rule.
