FAA Issues Airworthiness Directive for Robinson Helicopter Company Model R22 Helicopters
The FAA has issued an airworthiness directive for Robinson Helicopter Company Model R22 helicopters, requiring revisions to the Limitations, Normal Procedures, and Emergency Procedures sections of the R22 Rotorcraft Flight Manual to address high winds and turbulence, main rotor stall, and mast bumping. The directive aims to prevent accidents by limiting operations in adverse weather conditions and providing emergency procedures for pilots with sufficient experience and training.
