Coast Guard Considers Changes to USWMS and WRMS to Align with USATONS and IALA MBS

The U.S. Coast Guard is evaluating modifications to the Uniform State Waterways Marking System and Western Rivers Marking System to better match the U.S. Aids to Navigation System and the Maritime Buoyage System of the International Association of Lighthouse Authorities, aiming to reduce signal misinterpretation for mariners navigating different water bodies.
