Nuclear Regulatory Commission Extends Comment Period for Generic Letter on Primary Water Stress Corrosion Cracking in Nuclear Power Reactors

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has extended the comment period for a proposed generic letter on primary water stress corrosion cracking in control rod drive mechanisms and other vessel head penetrations of nuclear power reactors, originally set to expire on September 3, 1996, after receiving a request from the Nuclear Energy Institute for a 30-day extension.
