NHTSA Proposes Extension of FMVSS No. 135 to Light Trucks and Multipurpose Passenger Vehicles
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has proposed an amendment to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 135, Passenger Car Brake Systems, to include light trucks and multipurpose passenger vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 10,000 pounds or less, allowing them to choose between FMVSS No. 105 or FMVSS No. 135 for a five-year interim period.
