Braked Roll Conditions
This notice proposes to amend the requirements for landing gear braking on transport category airplanes to require that the airplane be designed to withstand main landing gear maximum braking forces during ground operations. This action would ensure that the landing gear and fuselage are capable of withstanding the dynamic loads associated with the maximum dynamic braking condition, and would also relieve a burden on industry by eliminating differences between the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and European Joint Aviation Requirements (JAR).
