Federal Acquisition Regulation; Information Technology Management Reform Act of 1996 (ITMRA) to Simplify IT Acquisition Process

The Civilian Agency Acquisition Council and the Defense Acquisition Regulations Council have agreed on an interim rule to amend the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to provide a clearer process for acquiring information technology (IT) that addresses risk management, as mandated by the Information Technology Management Reform Act (ITMRA) of 1996.
