FCC Proposes Rule to Revise Cost Allocation Rules for Local Exchange Carriers

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is seeking public comment on a proposed rule (NPRM) that would redefine the goals of cost allocation rules for local exchange carriers. The proposed rule aims to allocate certain categories of plant between regulated and non-regulated activities, with a focus on loop facilities, to accommodate the provision of non-regulated services that share outside plant facilities with regulated services.
