Emergency Alert System

In accordance with the GSA final Rule on Federal Advisory Committee Management, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announces the amending and renewing of the advisory committee charter for the Emergency Broadcast System Advisory Committee. This amendment restructures this committee to reflect changes resulting from the new Emergency Alert System (EAS), and changes the name of the committee to the National Advisory Committee (NAC). The Advisory Committee is also renewed for a term that runs from July 25, 1996 to July 25, 1998. At the same time, the FCC terminates the National Business and Industry Advisory Council. EFFECTIVE DATE: July 25, 1996.
