Implementation of Infrastructure Sharing Provisions in the Telecommunications Act of 1996

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted a rulemaking proceeding to implement Section 259 of the Communications Act of 1934, requiring incumbent local exchange carriers to share public switched network infrastructure with qualifying carriers, as part of the Telecommunications Act of 1996.
