FDA Affirms Ferrous Lactate as Generally Recognized as Safe for Color Fixative on Ripe Olives

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has amended its regulations to confirm that ferrous lactate is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) for use as a color fixative on ripe olives, following a petition from Purac America, Inc. and the agency's own initiative to update its color additive regulations.
