FDA Approves Monensin for Animal Feeds to Boost Weight Gain in Pasture Cattle

The US Food and Drug Administration has amended its regulations to allow the use of monensin in animal feeds for pasture cattle weighing less than 400 pounds, a move that could increase weight gain rates, following approval of a supplemental application by Elanco Animal Health, a division of Eli Lilly and Co.
