US Forest Service to Prepare Environmental Impact Statement for North Shore Project in Lake Tahoe Basin

The US Forest Service will assess the environmental impact of a proposal to implement ecosystem management principles on 7,000 acres of National Forest System lands in Washoe County, Nevada, and Placer County, California, which includes harvesting 20-30 million board feet of timber, prescribed fire, and watershed improvement projects.
