General Motors Receives Exemptions from Labor Department for Multiple Pension Plans

The Department of Labor has issued exemptions for several pension plans operated by General Motors, including plans for hourly-rate employees and salaried employees, allowing them to avoid certain restrictions under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986.
