Mrs. Fields Cookies, Inc.; Consent Agreement With Analysis To Aid Public Comment

In settlement of alleged violations of federal law prohibiting unfair acts and practices and unfair methods of competition, this consent agreement, accepted subject to final Commission approval, would prohibit the Salt Lake City, Utah-based corporation from misrepresenting the amount of fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, or calories in any bakery food products. The consent agreement settles allegations that Mrs. Fields touted a cookie line as ``low fat'' in advertising and promotional materials when the fat content of two cookies in the line exceeded the amount of fat that qualifies as ``low fat'' under Food and Drug Administration regulations.
