SEC Extends Exemption for Certain Brokers and Dealers From Broker-Dealer Registration
The Securities and Exchange Commission is extending the exemption for certain brokers and dealers from registering as broker-dealers, allowing them to act on certain over-the-counter derivative securities, to the extent they are securities. The exemption, which is retroactive to June 6, 1934, will expire on September 30, 1996.
