SEC Adopts Amendments to Rule 15c2-12 to Deter Fraud and Manipulation in Municipal Securities Market

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is adopting new rules to prevent fraud and manipulation in the municipal securities market by requiring issuers to provide annual financial information and event notices to information repositories. The new rules also require brokers and dealers to have procedures in place to receive timely event notices for municipal securities.
