The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a final rule amending Standard No. 121, Air Brake Systems, to include a definition of air-over-hydraulic brake subsystems, aiming to clarify the classification of vehicles equipped with these systems and eliminate the need for manufacturers' requests and agency interpretations.
