NMFS Prohibits Pacific Cod Fishing in Gulf of Alaska

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has prohibited directed fishing for Pacific cod by catcher/processors using hook-and-line gear in the Western Regulatory Area of the Gulf of Alaska due to concerns about exceeding the allocated total allowable catch (TAC) for the 2026 fishing season.
