FAA Issues Amendment to Airworthiness Directive for Robinson Helicopter Model R44 Helicopters
The FAA has issued an amendment to an existing airworthiness directive (AD) for Robinson Helicopter Company Model R44 helicopters, which requires revisions to the Limitations, Normal Procedures, and Emergency Procedures sections of the R44 Rotorcraft Flight Manual to limit operations in high winds and turbulence, and provide information about main rotor stalls and mast bumping. The amendment aims to address two Model R44 accidents since April 1994 involving M/R blades contacting the fuselage.
