FAA Extends Special Flight Rules at Grand Canyon National Park for 2 Years
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has extended the Special Flight Rules (SFR) in the vicinity of Grand Canyon National Park for an additional 2 years, allowing the National Park Service (NPS) to review and implement recommendations for reducing aircraft overflight impacts on the park. The rules, originally set to expire in 1996, will now remain in effect until 1998, giving the FAA time to review and potentially update the regulations.
