FAA Issues Special Conditions for Boeing 747-100 and 747-200 Airplanes with HIRF-Resistant Display
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued special conditions for the Boeing Company Model 747-100 and 747-200 airplanes, which have been modified by B & D Instruments & Avionics, Inc. to include a Flat Panel Engine Instrument Display. The FAA deems these special conditions necessary to ensure the display's safety when exposed to high-intensity radiated fields (HIRF).
