US FCC Affirms Allocation of 1.6 GHz and 2.4 GHz Bands for Mobile-Satellite Service

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has reaffirmed its decision to allocate the 1.6 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands for geostationary and non-geostationary orbit mobile-satellite service use, while also clarifying the use of certain international footnotes and deferring to the ITU's 1995 World Radiocommunications Conference action.
