FCC Proposes Plan to Expand 28 GHz Frequency Band for LMDS and FSS Services
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proposes a plan to allow Local Multipoint Distribution Service (LMDS) and Fixed Satellite Service (FSS) systems to operate in the 28 GHz frequency band, enabling multiple providers to offer innovative services such as two-way video and global networks. The plan also reallocate the 29.5-30.0 GHz band and facilitate competitive bidding among applicants.
