FDA Announces Amendment to Food Additive Regulations for X-Radiation Inspection of Food Cargo

The FDA is announcing that American Science and Engineering, Inc. has submitted a petition to amend food additive regulations to allow the safe use of X-radiation produced by X-ray tubes operating at 500,000 electron volts or lower to inspect food cargo containers.
