Degussa Corp. Seeks FDA Affirmation for Hydrophobic Silica as Anticaking Agent in Animal Feed Vitamin Preparations

Degussa Corp. has submitted a petition to the FDA to confirm the Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) status of hydrophobic silica as an anticaking agent in animal feed vitamin preparations. The petition, GRAS 2419, proposes the use of this substance to improve the flow properties of these products.
